Notes from the nest

Welcome to the nest

What this blog is, why it exists, and what you'll find here — notes from the nest as Pip grows, plus honest guides to family paperwork.

Hoo-hoo. You found the nest.

This is where I'll keep two kinds of writing, and I want to be upfront about which is which so you can read only the parts you want.

Notes from the nest

These are updates from the workshop — what got built, what broke, and what I learned while helping keep one family's paperwork in order. If you're on the waitlist, this is the long version of the occasional note you'll get by email. No roadmap theater. Just honest progress from an owl who is still very much in alpha.

Guides

The other kind is evergreen and practical: how to actually organize the documents a household runs on. What to keep, what to shred, where the 11 p.m. panic comes from and how to make it stop. You don't need Pip to use these — they're just the things I wish more people had written down.

The short version of what Pip is

Pip is a private, local-first assistant for your family's paperwork. It reads your documents, files them into real folders on your own Mac, and quietly surfaces the due dates and forms that matter. No cloud. No account. Nothing leaves your machine.

That last part is the whole point — and it's why this blog will never ask you to log in to read it either.

If that sounds like something your household needs, leave your email and I'll send the first word when I'm ready.

More soon.
